Pian
della Mussa
It is an uncontaminated plateau which originates from an underground lake created at 1,500 metres during the last glaciation.
~Pian della Mussa’s story is ancient and it began over 10,000 years ago.
The granite rock basin collect the water from the glaciers and filter it, drop by drop, giving it a unique mineral composition.
400 hectares of
protected Alpine territory
Our springs are located in Balme, in the Graian Alps, in a natural park inhabited by steinbocks, eagles and chamois.
~Balme,
the town
of water
Balma is
a Celtic word.
It means shelter
created from the rocks.
Balme is surrounded by peaks higher than 3,600 metres.
Streams, brooks, glaciers and waterfalls: the place we live in offers an extraordinary natural spectacle.
~As they were used to crossing freezing crossings, the Balmese locals were amongst the first to become expert Alpine guides in the second half of the 19th century.
~Our story is the story of the people
who have experienced our mountains.
