Pian della Mussa
Pian della Mussa
An unspoiled plateau, fed by an underground lake formed during the last ice age, 1,500 meters above sea level: the purity of ancient snowfields flows through our water.

An ancient story
An ancient story
The story of Pian della Mussa is an ancient one, beginning over ten thousand years ago.
A basin of granite rock collects the icy water from the snowfields and filters it, drop by drop, giving it a unique mineral composition.

Protected alpine area
400 hectares of protected alpine area
Our springs are in Balme, in the Graian Alps, within a natural park inhabited by ibex, eagles, and chamois.
The water land
Balme
Balma is a Celtic word meaning ‘shelter born from the rock.’
Balme is surrounded by peaks rising over 3,600 meters. Streams, brooks, glaciers, waterfalls—the land where we live offers an extraordinary natural spectacle.
Our story is the same as that of those who have lived in our mountains
Accustomed to crossing glacial passes, the people of Balme were among the first to become skilled alpine guides in the second half of the nineteenth century.
